Dottie Lux has three brains!

These were actually the pasties that made me think about starting this project (and blog). Dottie Lux wore these gruesome brain pasties at BadAss! Burlesque in June of 2008.

The 411 on Pasties

Pasties are adhesive coverings applied to a person’s nipples. Pasties vary in size, shape, design, material, and color. They are usually applied with a special glue, spirit gum, or various tapes.

Pasties are worn by many neoburlesque performers. Burlesque pasties may also feature tassels, which can be twirled by the performer, although many other materials are used to customize and personalize performers’ pasties.

Merriam-Webster (circa 1954) defines pasties as: small round coverings for a woman’s nipples, worn especially by a stripteaser.
